We have moved

There's a brand new shiny piece of the interwebs waiting for you. It's not quite done yet, but I just couldn't keep it to myself. Old posts and comments will continue to live here, as we slowly start to move everything over to its new home, but hey, don't wait for us to get it done. Go on over and enjoy it now.

Don’t forget, update your blog roll, readers, bookmarks, etc., etc., etc. with the new blog address.

Under Construction

Oh goodness! We are making some big changes over here! I wanted to surprise you all with a shiny new blog all out of the blue, but there have been some small hiccups along the way (because, obviously, right?). So you'll have to bear with us as we clean things up. Not to worry though, pretty things are coming!

Winter Water Factory

On Gilt today. One of my absolute favorite brands for bebe. 'Tis harder to find pretty prints for a boy than you might think. If there is a next one, and she is a she, there will be patterns and prints everyday. She will be a crawling, cooing optical illusion. In the meantime, for my Dash, I bought our favorite pieces in the next size up, because it will be pure tragedy when he outgrows his current size.

Empty your wallets, fill your hearts, people! Shop here.

Weekending

Summer is coming! I always think I don't like it, until I get a taste of it. We spent the entire weekend outside. Here we are at a little festival. There was music, and planting, and crawling on the grass. We ate duck fat garlic fries and ice cream (sorbet, for me) sandwiches. Then we went and took a little part in Jaimie Oliver's Food Revolution. HA!

Did you have a nice weekend? Either way, happy Monday!

These guys

So, Mother's Day? It was actually about these guys. I mean, obviously. Is there really anything else?

If you must know, this is what I wore. And I was spoiled silly with this and this.

The years are short

The days are long, but the years are short.

We've heard it all before, because it's true. Your life including baby transforms into something magical. It is faster, slower, crazy, clear, tiring, and energizing, all at once. I spend my days chronicling Dashiell's every move, trying to hold on to every moment, because I know that one day, much too soon, it will feel like it was just yesterday. I even have a mental file for the smell of his sweet, milky breath and the soft sighs he sings in his sleep. So while we are often on the go, taking trips here and there, I feel like our life is playing like a slow motion film. We spend our days hopping around from place to place, nomads in our own world. Scheduled, but unscheduled.

It's such the paradox, isn't it? This babyland we are in? Is it one that only a mother could understand? Anyway, whatever it is, this is our new style.

Here we are at a secret little spot that we love sneaking off to. It's part cafe, part art exhibit. "A playful collision of spaces," is what they say about themselves. Seemed fitting for this particular post.

P.S. The Art of Cooking exhibit is on display until August 1st. Go see it, if you can. In fact, visit this little place for some breakfast or some tea, if you have never been. They are closing their doors permanently come this summer.

P.P.S. We couldn't resist taking home this little gem. Doesn't she look delicious? Mini egg tarts have been one of my favorite desserts since I was a little girl.
