Well, we finally did it. After months and months of saying that we are "looking" for a new place, we finally found it. Seems like we didn't skip a beat either. With our 12-14 hour days wrapped up, we could actively check out the homes we've been making googly eyes at for months.
Our wish list was simple: MORE SPACE, 3 bedrooms, a kitchen fit for the Gods, and MORE SPACE. Okay, maybe not so simple. Especially when you take into consideration that we wanted to stay on the west side and not shell out $2.2 million.

A couple Sundays ago, Tim and I were getting a serious case of "stir-crazy" from being locked in the house working all weekend, so we decided to visit a couple open houses in the area. One of these was a newly constructed condo, 1/2 a mile from the water, that Tim had been following since December '08. It went on the market with no luck and 5 months later was turned into an auction. A couple units "survived" the auction and were put back on the market. This all happened in the midst of the whirlwind that was our life, so we couldn't really pay it too much attention.
What ended up happening? Here's the rundown: Favorite unit still available after highest bidder backed out, builder received multiple other offers for unit after auction, agent called last Wednesday evening-- we're the last ones standing, made offer Thursday night, builder accepted, signed purchase contract Friday.
WHEW! So here we are, in yet another pile of paperwork. Escrow sure makes buying a new home somewhat anti-climatic.
In the meantime, welcome to our soon-to-be new home...3 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2,300 sq feet of heaven.
Living room, dining room, & kitchen
